London, November 3, 2026: Goa Tourism marked the opening day of World Travel Market (WTM) London 2026 with the inauguration of its pavilion by Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Hon’ble Union Minister of Tourism and Culture, Government of India, in the presence of Smt. Sudha Murty, Hon’ble Member of Parliament; and other dignitaries and industry stakeholders.
The Goa delegation is led by Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Government of Goa, accompanied by Shri Sandip Jacques, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Tourism), Government of Goa; Shri Shawn Mendes, OSD to the Tourism Minister; along with other dignitaries and tourism industry stakeholders.

Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Government of India, said, “The UK remains an important market for Goa, supported by longstanding connections and a strong affinity for our destination. At WTM London, we look forward to building meaningful partnerships with the travel trade and introducing travellers to the many experiences Goa offers beyond its beaches. We also look forward to connecting with members of the Goan diaspora and strengthening the bonds that bring our communities closer.”
This year’s WTM theme, Resilience, Rebound & Reinvention: The Next Era of Global Travel, reflects the changing dynamics of the global tourism industry. Aligning with this theme, Goa Tourism is using its participation at WTM London to highlight the state’s evolving tourism landscape and its diverse offerings beyond beaches, including heritage, culture, adventure, wellness, cuisine and hinterland experiences. Through its pavilion, Goa aims to engage with international travel trade partners, strengthen business relationships and create new opportunities to position the state as a destination for varied and immersive travel experiences.
Shri Kedar Naik, Director of Tourism, Government of Goa, said, “Our participation at WTM London is an opportunity to present Goa as a destination of diverse experiences, from adventure, heritage and culture to cuisine, wellness and hinterland tourism. Over the next few days, we look forward to engaging with travel partners, exploring new opportunities and strengthening Goa’s visibility in the international market.”
The UK continues to be an important source market for Indian tourism, underpinned by longstanding cultural and historical connections, people-to-people ties and a substantial Indian diaspora. Goa’s participation seeks to build on these connections through trade interactions, destination promotion and stronger international partnerships. The delegation will continue its engagements with UK-based tour operators, travel agents, destination management companies and other stakeholders over the remaining days of WTM London.
