300 Students at Mayem set to benefit from Vedanta Computer Lab at Shri Mahamaya High School

Mayem, Goa, July 1, 2025: Reinforcing its commitment to education and digital empowerment, Vedanta Iron Ore Goa inaugurated a state-of-the-art Computer Lab at Mahamaya High School, Mayem, under the aegis of the Vedanta Foundation. The initiative aims to enhance digital access and learning opportunities for over 300 students, studying in classes V to X.

The lab, equipped with laptops and modern learning tools, was inaugurated by Shri Premendra Shet, Hon’ble MLA for Maem Constituency, along with Mr. Dhirajkumar Jagdish, Deputy CEO, Vedanta Iron Ore Goa (IOG), Mr. Rupesh Thanekar – President, Dyanprasark Vidya Mandal, Mrs. Suman Gaonkar, Principal, and faculty and students of Shri Mahamaya High School.

Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble MLA, Mayem, Shri Premendra Shet said, “Digital education is the foundation of a progressive society. Equipping our children with access to technology is key to preparing them for a future full of opportunities. I commend Vedanta Sesa Goa for their unwavering commitment to education and community development. Initiatives like these truly help bridge the gap between rural potential and global possibilities”.

Sharing his sentiments at the occasion, Mr Dhirajkumar Jagdish, Dy CEO, IOG said, “This initiative is a testament to Vedanta’s belief in the transformative power of education and technology. At Iron Ore Goa, we are committed to creating meaningful and sustainable impact in the communities we serve. The new computer lab at Mahamaya High School is not just an investment in infrastructure, but in the future aspirations of our youth.”

Over the years, Vedanta Sesa Goa has set up 18 computer labs and 8 computer centres across three states-Goa, Maharashtra & Karnataka, helping expand digital access & transform the futures of over 5500 students through access to quality digital education.
