Cast and Crew of the Opening Film interacted with media on the 2nd Day of IFFI

21 November 2025: Tasting the stirring admiration and wonder alike from the audience during yesterday’s screening, Director Gabriel Mascaro along with Sound Designers María Alejandra Rojas, Arturo Salazar RB and Actresses Clarissa Pinheiro, Rosa Malagueta met with media today at the PIB Press Conference Hall at 56 IFFI to explore the trail of their film ’The Blue Trail’.

During the interaction Gabriel recollected, “I was writing the screenplay 5-6 years ago and I used to be in doubt about in which region of Brazil I should shoot and then I visited Goa and it struck me that I must shoot in the Amazon region; because it’s very similar to Goa.” He went on to mention, “I was bit inspired by the fashion of the Goa police.”

Sound Designer María Alejandra Rojas explained, “Gabriel was very clear about how he wanted the movie to sound. That’s very unusual having a director be so delicate about each sound.”

Actress Rosa Malagueta briefed, “I come from the Amazon culture. Amazon culture is indigenous, very Brazilian. I am also a mixture of two cultures- indigenous and black culture. I am representing my culture in the film.” Actress Clarissa Pinheiro also highlighted how it was a really pleasant experience for her to work with Gabriel who was a friend and also whom she has really admired.

The premiere of ‘The Blue Trail’ was greeted with thunderous applause. Audience lauded the film for its heartfelt exploration of life’s trials, its quiet celebration of resilience, and the luminous journey of self-discovery that Teresa so boldly undertakes.
