State-Level Photography Competition Winners Felicitated at Goa Forest Diversity Festival

The Goa Forest Diversity Festival organized a state-level photography competition on the theme “Forest and Me,” celebrating the beauty, mystery, and diversity of Goa’s forests. The festival felicitated the winners, with awards presented by Arts and Culture Minister Dr. Ramesh Tawadkar and Goa Forest Development Corporation Chairperson Dr. Deviya Rone.

Mario Pimenta, popularly known by his Instagram handle @mario_sarkaar, a renowned Goan digital creator and filmmaker, won first place with a striking image of a Monitor Lizard camouflaged against a tree, capturing the forest’s mysterious charm. Reflecting on his work, Mario said that forests are full of hidden wonders waiting to be discovered, and his photograph beautifully conveys this sense of intrigue.

Gargi Tulsidharan, also known as Gigglegardeners, the youngest winner, shared a touching image reflecting her personal bond with the forest. Accompanied by her mother at the felicitation ceremony, her photograph conveyed the sense of freedom and joy she experiences in nature, highlighting how even children can feel deeply connected to the environment.

Sattej Tari, of Digital Dreams Photography Goa, a professional photographer, won third place with a photograph that captures the essence of listening to nature, showcasing the forest’s calm and immersive atmosphere.
