Goa Tourism Partners with Caravela Pickleball Fiesta as Official Tourism Partner, Strengthening Sports-Tourism Vision

GOA, April 17, 2026: Further advancing its vision to position Goa as a dynamic, all-season destination, Goa Tourism has come on board as the official tourism partner for the Caravela Sunset Pickleball Fiesta, scheduled for April 18–19, 2026. Hosted at the iconic Caravela Beach Resort, the event will also mark the unveiling of four professional-grade beachfront pickleball courts, an important addition to the state’s evolving sports infrastructure.

The two-day fiesta is expected to bring together over 200 participants, including corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, and sports enthusiasts, drawing participation from across cities. Designed as more than just a sporting event, the experience blends competitive play with Goa’s signature sundowner culture, offering curated hospitality, networking opportunities, and immersive lifestyle elements.

As global travel trends increasingly shift toward active, experience-led holidays, Goa Tourism is strategically tapping into the rising popularity of pickleball, one of the fastest-growing sports worldwide to attract a new segment of high-value, lifestyle-driven travellers. The initiative reflects a broader push to integrate sport with hospitality, leisure, and community engagement.

Rohan A. Khaunte, Minister for Tourism, Government of Goa, said: “We see strong potential in sports tourism as a key driver of growth for Goa’s visitor economy. Our focus is on creating experiences that align with evolving traveller preferences, bringing together sports, lifestyle, and the destination in a seamless way. This approach allows us to attract new audiences, encourage repeat visits, and strengthen Goa’s position as a year-round tourism hub’’

Goa Tourism has been actively working to build a robust, multi-dimensional tourism ecosystem that goes beyond seasonal leisure travel. By investing in niche segments such as sports tourism, MICE, and destination weddings, the state aims to drive consistent footfall and enhance visitor engagement across the calendar.

The introduction of professional pickleball courts at Caravela Beach Resort represents a step forward in this direction, bridging the gap between competitive sport and luxury hospitality, while opening avenues for hosting national and international sporting events in the future.

With initiatives like these, Goa continues to evolve beyond a traditional beach destination into a hub for sports, culture, and experiential travel, cementing its place on both the national and global tourism map.
