
Giovanna De Sequeira Wins Silver Medal at WAKO National Kickboxing Championship 2026

Goa’s rising kickboxing talent, Giovanna De Sequeira of Academy of Combat Sports Goa (ACS-GOA), brought laurels to the state by winning a Silver Medal in the Kick Light event at the prestigious WAKO National Kickboxing Championship 2026 (Sub-Junior Boys & Girls) held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, from June 17 to 21.
Competing in the Younger Cadet (-32 kg) category, Giovanna represented the WAKO Kickboxing Association Goa and participated in both Kick Light (KL) and Light Contact (LC) disciplines. Displaying exceptional determination, skill, and fighting spirit against some of the country’s best young athletes, she emerged as one of Goa’s top performers at the championship.
The national event drew nearly 1,300 athletes from across India, making her achievement even more significant. Notably, Giovanna fought the most bouts among the Goan contingent, showcasing remarkable endurance and competitive spirit throughout the tournament.
Giovanna trains at the Academy of Combat Sports Goa (ACS-GOA) under the guidance of Coach Raunak Singh (Coach Ronnyy), Assistant Coach of the WAKO Kickboxing Association Goa. Her outstanding performance reflects the growing strength of kickboxing in Goa and highlights the dedication and hard work of both the athlete and her coaching team.
