Goa Tourism to Showcase Diverse, Year-Round Destination Experiences at India Travel Mart Amritsar 2026
Panaji, September 04, 2026: Goa Tourism is set to participate in the India Travel Mart (ITM) Amritsar 2026, being held from September 5 to 7, 2026, at Amritsar, as the State steps up its engagement with the travel trade and tourism stakeholders across Punjab and the wider North Indian market.
The three-day travel mart will provide Goa Tourism with an important platform to engage directly with travel agents, tour operators and other industry stakeholders, while presenting a broader destination proposition that goes beyond the conventional beach holiday. The participation will focus on strengthening trade relationships, understanding evolving traveller preferences and encouraging the industry to curate Goa around the interests and motivations of different traveller segments.
The timing comes as Goa continues to witness sustained tourist movement through the year. According to the latest data from the Department of Tourism, Goa recorded 61.38 lakh tourist arrivals between January and July 2026, including 59.02 lakh domestic and 2.36 lakh international visitors.
Hon’ble Minister for Tourism Shri Rohan A. Khaunte said, “North India remains an important market for Goa, and platforms such as ITM Amritsar give us an opportunity to engage closely with the travel trade and understand the changing expectations of travellers. Our focus is to present Goa not as a destination that can be reduced to a standard package, but as a destination offering different experiences for different travellers. We want our trade partners to look at Goa through its beaches, adventure, culinary traditions, spirituality, culture and hinterland, and create itineraries that are more meaningful, diverse and experience-led.”
At ITM Amritsar, Goa Tourism will centre its destination narrative around four broad experience pillars: Beach, Adventure, Culinary and Spiritual. While Goa’s beaches remain at the heart of its tourism identity, the State will encourage the trade to look beyond the coastline and explore the experiences that surround it.
Director of Tourism Shri Kedar Naik said, “ITM Amritsar is an opportunity for us not only to showcase Goa but also to listen to the travel trade. We want to understand what travellers from Punjab and the wider North Indian market are looking for, what kinds of experiences are driving destination choices and how we can work with our partners to create new demand for Goa. Our message is simple: there isn’t one Goa. There are many Goas waiting to be discovered.”
The Beach proposition will highlight Goa’s varied coastline, from lively and energetic destinations to quieter stretches, while also showcasing water-based recreation, leisure, sunsets, dining and wellness experiences. Under Adventure, Goa Tourism will showcase opportunities ranging from water sports and kayaking to river, coastal and outdoor experiences across its natural landscapes and hinterland.
The Culinary proposition will position food as a gateway to understanding Goa’s history, culture and local traditions, encouraging the trade to incorporate local cuisine, seafood and culinary experiences into itineraries. Meanwhile, the Spiritual proposition will bring attention to Goa’s quieter side, including its places of worship, heritage, traditions, reflection, wellness and slow-travel experiences.
Goa Tourism will also encourage travel partners to move towards more customised itineraries. Families can combine Beach, Culinary and Spiritual experiences; younger travellers can explore Beach, Adventure and Culinary; couples can discover Beach, Culinary and Spiritual; while senior travellers can explore Spiritual, Culinary and Leisure experiences.
Through its participation at ITM Amritsar, Goa Tourism aims to deepen its engagement with the North Indian travel trade and reinforce Goa’s positioning as a multi-experience, year-round destination, where every traveller can discover a Goa that matches their own interests, motivations and way of travelling.
