Swachhata Abhiyan Strengthens Cleanliness Efforts at Chorla Ghat

Under the leadership of MLA Dr. Deviya Rane, a cleanliness and awareness drive was conducted at the Chorla Ghat viewpoint in Sattari on 2nd October as part of the Swachhata Abhiyan.

Earlier, on 12th September, Dr. Deviya Rane had initiated cleanliness awareness at the Chorla Ghat viewpoint, urging roadside stall owners to take responsibility for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring proper disposal of waste.

Building on this awareness, today’s Swachhata Abhiyan by GFDC and Goa Forest Department focused on turning awareness into action. Strict instructions were given to all roadside stall owners regarding cleanliness and proper waste disposal. They were also directed to clean their stalls and the surrounding areas regularly.

During today’s cleanliness drive, around 30 bags of garbage were collected from the area.

To support sustained cleanliness, three dustbins have been placed—two by the Panchayat and one by the Forest Department. Stall owners have also been instructed to sweep and maintain the area twice a day, once in the morning and again in the evening.

The initiative reflects a clear message: awareness must lead to action, and action must deliver visible results.

The responsibility now lies with all stakeholders to ensure that the cleanliness achieved today is maintained in the days ahead through continued cooperation and responsible practices.

Dr. Deviya Rane also appreciated the Goa Forest Department and all personnel involved for their efforts in carrying forward the cleanliness initiative and ensuring sustained action on the ground.

This initiative marks a clear transition from awareness to sustained action. The site will be continuously monitored and kept under regular surveillance to ensure proper waste disposal and maintain cleanliness. The objective is not merely to clean Chorla Ghat today, but to ensure that it remains clean, responsible and well-maintained every day.
