Goa Records 7.69 Million Tourist Arrivals in First Nine Months of 2026, Up 0.76% Over 2025
Panaji, October 9, 2026: Goa recorded 7,690,149 tourist arrivals between January and September 2026, registering a growth of approximately 0.76% over the 7,632,100 arrivals recorded during the corresponding period in 2025.
Domestic tourist arrivals increased by 1.72%, rising from 7,296,068 in January–September 2025 to 7,421,709 during the same period in 2026. The figures indicate continued resilience in Goa’s domestic tourism market. The figures reinforce the importance of continued engagement with domestic and international tourism markets, strengthening charter and scheduled flight connectivity, and developing targeted campaigns that respond to the preferences of travellers from established and emerging source markets.
Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Government of Goa, Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, said: “Goa’s tourism performance in the first nine months of 2026 reflects the continued confidence of travellers to our destination. Our focus is on building a tourism ecosystem that goes beyond seasonal numbers. By promoting Goa’s spiritual and cultural heritage, wellness experiences, hinterland destinations, adventure offerings and community-led tourism, we are working to encourage longer stays, more meaningful visitor experiences and a wider distribution of economic benefits among Goans.”
Goa has been working to broaden its international reach through tourism promotions, trade engagements and improved connectivity, including initiatives targeting markets across Europe, the United Kingdom, Russia and Central Asia. These efforts are aimed at making Goa more accessible to international visitors while encouraging longer stays and a wider distribution of tourism benefits across the state.
Director of Tourism, Government of Goa, Shri Kedar Naik, added: “The arrival figures provide valuable insights into the changing dynamics of Goa’s tourism sector. The growth in domestic visits demonstrates the continued appeal of Goa across different travel periods. The Department continues to work with airlines, tour operators, travel trade partners and industry stakeholders to strengthen connectivity, improve destination visibility and develop market-specific promotional initiatives.”
The January–September 2026 figures provide an important indicator of the tourism sector’s performance and the contrasting trends across domestic and international segments. Goa’s approach will continue to focus on strengthening its position as a year-round destination, broadening its tourism portfolio and ensuring that growth translates into meaningful economic opportunities for local communities, businesses and tourism stakeholders.
