Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Government of Goa & MLA, Porvorim, said, “Our farmers are an integral part of Porvorim’s identity, and supporting them is essential to preserving our agricultural traditions. Through mechanised paddy harvesting, we aim to ease the demands of farming and make the process more efficient for our farming community. Over the years, my commitment has been to ensure that development reaches every section of society, and supporting our farmers remains an important part of that journey.”
Shri Khaunte further stated that the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s vision of Viksit Bharat places strong emphasis on empowering farmers, women and youth as key drivers of the nation’s progress. Aligned with this vision, our efforts in Porvorim are focused on strengthening Kisan Shakti, creating opportunities for women and enabling the youth to contribute meaningfully to the state’s growth. Building the capacity of our farming community through mechanisation is a step towards building a more resilient agricultural sector while preserving our traditional roots and advancing the vision of Viksit Goa.
