
A Youth Convention to pledge to protect dignity of woman and uphold human values by AIDYO
A youth convention to pledge ‘to protect dignity of woman and uphold human values was held at Institute Menezes Braganza Hall in Panaji today. The Goa Unit of All India democratic youth organisation (AIDYO) had organised this event. The youth convention was held as a mark of protest against increasing crimes on women.
Speaking on the occassion, the All India Vice President of AIDYO, Dr.G. Shashikumar said, ” today the people in general and youth in particular or facing a severe moral crisis. Self centredness is on the rise and human relationships are breaking down. The society is witnessing an enormous increase in crimes against women as the patriarchal outlook in the society is treating women as only objects of lust. The human value system is fast eroding and dignity of women is destroyed.
With every passing generation we are witness to degeneration of value system. Today this phenomenon is further aggravated due to the ill effects of irresponsible social media and mainstream media. The people who promote regressive and anti -life ideas like Alpha male masculinity, manosphere, misogynist and sexiest ideas or being promoted extensively and garnering followers and subscribers in millions.”
Dr.G. Shashikumar called upon the youths to get organised to protect human values by inculcating higher sense of values ethics and morality in life. He said that only by imbibing such values and full feeling the social obligation each youth not only can thread the path of greatness but save the society as a whole as well as the individual from debacle”.
Speaking on the purpose of the youth convention, Bhavani Shankar Gowda, All India Council member, ” the programs like this youth convention provide the ground for a serious debate on the degeneration in values and attacks and atrocities on women. We need to reflect upon the basis that is causing that emergence of this problems, there by helping the youth to Unleash struggle against this degeneration.
Sharanu Patil, an organiser of AIDYO presented the introductory note about the program and urge the youth to join and strengthen this moment for higher culture.
Hundreds of youths from diffent institutions participated enthusiastically and took an oath to protect dignity of woman and uphold human values.
