Angelo Nunes Unanimously Elected Chairman of Vasco Carnival Committee 2026; 52-Member Panel Formed for Grand Celebration

In a major step towards organising one of the most vibrant cultural events of the city, Mr. Angelo Nunes has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Vasco Carnival Committee 2026. The appointment was confirmed during a crucial meeting presided over by Chairperson Mr. Girish Borkar and Chief Officer Mr. Siddhivinayak S. Naik, where a 52-member committee was formally constituted.

Members present at the meeting expressed full confidence in Mr. Nunes, noting that his leadership and experience will play a key role in ensuring a grand, well-coordinated, and culturally rich Vasco Carnival. His election is widely seen as a positive move toward strengthening event planning, streamlining coordination, and promoting Goan tradition on a larger scale.

Highlighting the significance of the occasion, the committee observed that the 2026 edition will focus on enhanced public participation, better logistical planning, and the introduction of new cultural elements to elevate the festival’s appeal.
