Caring Souls and GMC Students Bring Smiles to Hospital Wards with Christmas Carol Singing and Gift Distribution
The 2023 batch of students from Goa Medical College (GMC), in collaboration with Caring Souls, recently organised a heartwarming Christmas celebration at the Paediatrics and Geriatrics wards of a local hospital. The event aimed to spread joy and happiness among the patients, families, and staff, symbolising the true spirit of Christmas.
Caring Souls Goa has been spreading joy and cheer among patients in the Paediatrics and Geriatrics wards for the past three years. This heartwarming initiative marks the fourth such event, where the students and members of Caring Souls come together to celebrate the festive season with those who can’t be with their families. The main aim is to become a part of their lives, if only for a brief moment, and bring smiles to their faces. By doing so, they become their family away from home, sharing in the joy and spirit of the occasion.
The students, led by Sangam Sawant from GMC Students and Abisha Fernandes, Secretary of Caring Souls Goa, sang melodious Christmas carols that lifted the spirits of everyone present. The festive atmosphere was palpable as the students distributed gifts and chocolates to the children and elderly patients, bringing smiles to their faces.
This initiative reflects the compassion and kindness of the GMC students and Caring Souls, who went out of their way to make a difference in the lives of those who needed it most. The event was a testament to the power of kindness and the importance of spreading hope and happiness during the festive season.
