
Department of Tourism initiates action against individuals violating Goa Tourist Trade Act at Mopa
Panaji, June 26, 2025 : Continuing its crackdown on unauthorised service providers, the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, in coordination with the Tourist Police Unit, has initiated action against five individuals found operating in violation of the Goa Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 1982.
The incident occurred in the vicinity of Manohar International Airport, Mopa, where these individuals were found carrying illegal activities which were causing inconvenience to visitors and obstructing the smooth movement of tourists in the area.
The persons apprehended include:
Mr. Muddasar S/o Yasin Bepari, 22, resident of H. No. 15, Ambekhnad Reis, Magoa, Bardez, North Goa – 403114
Mr. Ummeasma S/o Mohammad Jahagirdar, 34 yrs, resident of L 490, Rundamvi, Anjunan Schvol, Davortim, Salcette, Goa
Mr. Siraj S/o Shabbir Ahmed Shadguppi, resident of H. No. 270, Pajifond, Margao, Salcette, South Goa
Mr. Rohan S/o Naresh Korgaonkar, 36 yrs, resident of H. No. 341, Tambudki, Bardez, Goa
Mr. Badshah S/o Mabub Khan, 37 yrs, occupation – Driver, resident of H. No. 20, Sonia Nagar, Kare Hill View, Opposite Margao, South Goa
All five individuals have been produced before the Department of Tourism for further necessary action under Section 2(g) read with Section 26 of the Goa Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 1982.
The Department of Tourism reiterates its commitment to ensuring that all tourism-related services are conducted in a lawful and regulated manner. The Department, along with the Tourist Police Unit, will continue to take firm action against unauthorized operations to safeguard the interests of tourists and uphold the integrity of Goa’s tourism sector.
