
From Tricolour to Tourism: Goa’s Tiranga Yatra Celebrates Unity and Patriotism
Panaji, August 14, 2025 – In line with the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign initiated by the Ministry of Culture, The Department of Tourism organised the Tiranga Yatra with the people of Goa participating in a spirited bike rally to mark the eve of India’s 79th Independence Day.
Speaking at the event, the Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Shri Rohan A. Khaunte said, “The Tiranga Yatra is a tribute to India’s freedom and a reflection of our unity as a people. By participating in this campaign, we are not only honouring our past but also inspiring future generations to uphold the values of our nation.”
The Director of Tourism, Shri Kedar Naik added, “Goa Tourism is proud to align with the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative. Events like this encourage citizens to come together, celebrate our heritage, and promote a sense of collective responsibility towards our country.”
The rally, which began at Vidya Prabodhini College, Alto Porvorim, and concluded at Art Park, Porvorim, saw riders proudly carrying the National Flag and promoting the message “Nation First, Safety Always”. The initiative formed part of Goa’s contribution towards the nationwide call to encourage citizens to display the Tricolour and strengthen the visual presence of patriotism across public spaces.
The Hon’ble Minister for Tourism and the Director of Tourism joined riders, community members, and youth groups, reinforcing the Department’s commitment to supporting central initiatives and fostering public participation.
The Department of Tourism continues to position Goa as a destination where natural beauty is complemented by a rich cultural identity. Visitors are invited to be part of these moments, experiencing Goa not just as a holiday spot, but as a living, breathing showcase of India’s heritage.
