Goa Tourism Felicitates GTDC Chairman Shri Ganesh Gaonkar for his Tenure at Goa Tourism Development Corporation
Panaji, 30th September 2025 – The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) came together to felicitate GTDC Chairman, Shri Ganesh Gaonkar. The event was marked by warm tributes, gratitude, and memories of his inspiring leadership and personal rapport with the GTDC family.
Hon’ble Minister for Tourism Shri Rohan A. Khaunte graced the occasion and felicitated Shri Gaonkar for his remarkable contribution to strengthening and diversifying Goa’s tourism offerings. Shri Gaonkar’s wife, Smt. Sadichha Gaonkar, was also present and received warm appreciation for her steadfast support during his tenure.
The farewell was attended by Director of Tourism Shri Kedar Naik; Managing Director, GTDC, Shri Kuldeep Arolkar and the entire GTDC team, General Managers, Deputy General Managers, and staff, who came together to express their gratitude and best wishes.
Speaking at the event, Hon’ble Minister Shri Rohan A. Khaunte commended Shri Gaonkar’s commitment to responsible tourism and his collaborative approach with the Department of Tourism. “Shri Ganesh Gaonkar has not only guided GTDC with wisdom and dedication, but he has also shown us what it means to lead with humility and compassion. His tenure has been about much more than policy or projects, it has been about people. His ability to connect with staff, to listen, and to motivate has created a legacy of trust and respect within the organisation. We remain grateful for his service and the positive change he has brought to Goa’s tourism landscape.”
Director Tourism, Shri Kedar Naik stated “As Chairman, Shri Gaonkar was deeply supportive of the Department of Tourism’s vision and worked hand-in-hand with us to take forward key initiatives. His collaborative spirit, his encouragement, and his ability to bring people together will be remembered as one of his greatest strengths.”
Managing Director, GTDC, Shri Kuldeep Arolkar added “Shri Gaonkar’s open-door policy and the goodwill he fostered within the organisation. His doors were always open to staff, and he patiently listened to their concerns, making everyone feel heard and respected. His humility and warmth have left a mark on all of us,”
Shri Deepak Narvekar Dy General Manager Marketing compered the function and as the evening came a conclusion, members of the GTDC family extended their heartfelt wishes to Shri and Smt. Gaonkar. Though his tenure as Chairman has come to an end, his values, vision, and spirit of inclusiveness will continue to guide GTDC in the years ahead.
