
Goa Tourism showcases culture and craft at Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2025
Goa, 8 February 2025: The Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2025 commenced on Friday with much fanfare, and Goa Tourism is making a grand impression with its vibrant pavilion that showcases the stateās rich cultural heritage, new tourism initatives, art, handicrafts, and traditions. Right from the first day, the Goa Tourism Pavilion has become a center of attraction, drawing enthusiastic visitors.
The Goa Tourism Pavilion is a visual treat for visitors, offering a glimpse into the unique traditions of the state. It showcases Goaās diverse cultural offerings through live performances, craft demonstrations, and displays of traditional artifacts.
The Honāble Minister for Tourism & Heritage, Govt. of Haryana, Dr. Arvind Kumar along with his spouse visited Goa Tourism Pavilion on day one. He was welcomed and felicitated at the Goa Tourism Pavilion by Dy. GM of GTDC, Shri Deepak Narvekar, and Shri Sudatt Kambli from the Department of Tourism. The Minister witnessed a live Goan folk dance performance and took a keen interest in the demonstration and display of handicrafts showcased by artisans of Goa. Speaking on the occasion the Minister expressed gratitude to Goa Tourism for participating in a big way at the International Mela and lauded the folk dance artists for a vibrant performance.
The Goa Tourism pavilion focuses on new initiatives including Regenerative Tourism, Ekadasha Teertha, Goa beyond beaches besides MICE, Cuisine, Religious places, adventure tourism along with insights into upcoming festivals such as the Shiv jayanti, Goa Carnaval (28 Feb ā 4 March) and the Shigmo Festival (15 March ā 29 March). The pavilion is also a shopperās delight, with a range of authentic Goan handicrafts and handmade products available for purchase. From colourful pottery to intricate textiles and traditional accessories.

The Goa Tourism delegation, led by Deputy General Manager of GTDC, Shri Deepak Narvekar, and Shri Sudatt Kambli from the Department of Tourism, interacted with the media and visitors, showcasing Goa’s diverse tourism offerings and promoting sustainable travel experiences.
Organized by the Union Ministries of Tourism & Culture, the Ministry of Textiles, Ministry of External Affairs in collaboration with Haryana Tourism, this globally renowned mela will run from 7th to 23rd February 2025.
