Goan Actor Gangaram to Receive Prestigious Shri Gopinath Savkar Memorial Award 2025
The Goa Hindu Association will award Shri Gopinath Savkar Memorial Award 2025 to renowned Goan theatre artist Shri Gangaram alias Satish Narvekar
The Goa Hindu Association Mumbai has selected renowned Goan theatre artist Shri Gangaram alias Satish Narvekar for the Shri Gopinath Savkar Memorial Award 2025. The award is in the form of a shawl and a memento. The award will be presented at the anniversary celebration of The Goa Hindu Association in Mumbai.
Gangaram alias Satish Narvekar has won the first prize for best direction for the play Media presented by Rudreshwar Panaji in the final round of the 63rd Maharashtra State Hovanshi Marathi Drama Competition. He has been working continuously in the theatre sector of Goa for the past 35 years. Recognizing his work in the theatre sector, the Goa government honored him with the Youth Creation Award for 2019-20.
In the field of drama, he has won many awards in the Marathi Konkani Drama Competition organized by Kala Akademi. He has presented his art in the National Drama Festival organized in Goa, Rajasthan, Shimla, Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Jodhpur. He has presented the play he directed in the International Bharat Rang Mahotsav, which is considered the largest in the world, and the Colombo International Drama Festival in Sri Lanka. In the Kala Akademi A Group State Drama Competition of Yadha, the play Media, which he directed, received 7 individual awards and the first prize in the play. Also, in the final round of the 63rd Maharashtra State Hovanshi Marathi Drama Competition, this play received 5 individual awards and the first prize in the play from 501 plays.
