Goan Artists Shine at Republic Day Parade: Vinayak Decorators’ Assam & Himachal Pradesh Tableaux Featured on Kartavya Path

New Delhi, January 26, 2026: At the 77th Republic Day Parade held today on Kartavya Path, the beautifully crafted tableaux of Assam and Himachal Pradesh, designed and fully decorated by Goa’s own Vinayak Decorators, stood out among the nation’s cultural showcases. The floats — conceptualised and realised by Goan artists under the leadership of Siddesh Dessai, owner of Vinayak Decorators — represented the rich heritage and traditions of the two states, earning admiration from spectators and dignitaries alike.

The grand parade, celebrating India’s constitution and diversity under the themes “Svatantrata Ka Mantra: Vande Mataram” and “Samriddhi Ka Mantra: Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” featured 30 cultural tableaux from states, Union Territories and ministries. Assam’s display highlighted the state’s unique terracotta craft of Asharikandi, while Himachal Pradesh’s tableau celebrated its identity as “Dev Bhoomi” with vivid cultural imagery.

President Droupadi Murmu presided over the event, joined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, other central ministers, and distinguished international guests — including Antonio Costa, President of the European Council, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission — who attended the celebrations as chief guests.

The Republic Day parade also offered a spectacular display of India’s military strength, cultural diversity and artistic excellence, with marching contingents, ceremonial gun salutes, and a colourful procession of performers marking the nation’s pride and unity.
