
Goan Film Wins Best Documentary at Miseentage Indian Film Awards 2025
The Goan documentary “Bhaangar Kalakusar Karigiri”, directed and shot by Prachi Shirodkar, has won the Best Documentary Award at the Miseentage Indian Film Awards 2025. Edited by Mario Pimenta, the film is presented in the Konkani language.
The short documentary celebrates the artistry and craftsmanship of Goa’s traditional gold industry, featuring veteran artisans such as Pranay Shirodkar, Virendra Rivankar, and Rashila Shirodkar.
Prachi Shirodkar, an artist and debutant filmmaker from Porvorim, Goa, is known for her wide creative interests. Along with her work in short films and music videos, she has also gained experience in theatre, acting, and voiceovers.
The Miseentage Indian Film Awards, an initiative by Film Fest Maniac, serves as a digital platform for budding Indian filmmakers whose stories deserve national recognition.
This award comes at a historic moment, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of Goan cinema, and stands as a significant milestone that showcases Goan cinema’s growing prominence on the national stage.
