Poriem MLA on demands for Tourism and Information and Technology
DEMANDS FOR TOURISM –

1. MLA Poriem Dr. Deviya Rane expressed her gratitude to Hon’ble Min for Tourism Shri Rohan Khaunte and Chairperson Shri Ganesh Gaonkar for supporting and promoting GFDC’s ecotourism initiatives.

Their combined efforts in showcasing the rich natural heritage of Goa have added great value to our eco-destinations and helped amplify the reach and impact of our initiatives.

2. MLA Poriem Dr. Deviya Rane, raised the demand to give state festival recognition to Ghode Modni, a traditional festival in Thane-Sattari.

This recognition will provide financial assistance and logistical support to the organizing committee via relevant schemes or grants, as they end up spending over ₹15 lakhs annually.

3. MLA Poriem Dr. Deviya Rane, raised a demand to Hon’ble Min for Tourism Shri Rohan Khaunte, to constitute a monitoring committee to ensure the beaches remain clean and attractive for tourists and locals.

Our beaches remain the core identity and pillar of our tourism economy. It is imperative to have a mechanism in place and priortize the cleanliness and maintenance of beaches in Goa.

DEMANDS FOR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY –

MLA Poriem Dr. Deviya Rane raised a demand in the assembly regarding setting up of more Public Wi-Fi Hotspots in such underserved villages on a priority basis.

She requested the Hon’ble Minister to kindly instruct the department to conduct a detailed survey and prepare a report identifying all areas in Poriem Constituency that are suffering from poor internet speed and lack of broadband access. Also ensure the provision of basic digital infrastructure, particularly Fiber Optic Cable, in all rural areas of Sattari Taluka, especially in those that currently lack any such facility.

She further requested for upgradation of 4G towers to 5G in rural areas of Poriem.
