The Healthcare Iconic Fashion & Awards (HIFAA) Honours Healthcare Heroes

September, 2025: The Healthcare Iconic Fashion & Awards (HIFAA) concluded its two-day event at the Taj in Goa with a unique blend of healthcare, fashion and recognition of frontline workers.

The gathering was attended by Ajay Kumar Mishra, former Deputy Home Minister, and Subhash Phal Dessai, Goa’s Social Welfare Minister. Both leaders praised the initiative for honouring the contribution of healthcare professionals in society.

One of the most memorable moments came when 102-year-old freedom fighter and Padma Shri awardee Dr. Libia Lobo received an award and later walked the ramp with doctors and models dressed in Adhya Fashion’s creations. Her appearance was met with a standing ovation from the audience.

The event also saw Bollywood playback singer Hema Sardesai being felicitated for her social work. After receiving her award, she treated the audience to some of her hit songs.

Panel discussions across the two days covered various aspects of healthcare and wellness. Dr. Rajneesh Kant conducted a live demonstration on chiropractic techniques, while Dr. Santosh Pandey, Mickey Mehta and Ali Irani shared exercise and wellness guidance. General physician Dr. Rajnikant Mishra kept the atmosphere light with his humour.

Alongside these sessions, awards were presented to doctors, nurses, ward boys and ambulance drivers, recognising their role as the backbone of the healthcare system.

BIG FM Goa’s RJ Akash and RJ Namrata were also present, interviewing awardees and dignitaries, adding a media spotlight to the event. Nitu Joshi of Miam Charitable Trust received the Best NGO and Social Work Award for her organisation’s work with tribal communities in Gadchiroli and Nagpur.

Actress Ekta Jain anchored the two-day programme, which concluded with appreciation for the organising committee, led by Dr. Rahul Bajpai (President), Dr. Biswajit Mondal (Founder), Hemanshu Mehta (Co-founder) and Dr. Santosh Pandey.

The event underlined the idea that healthcare is not only about service but also about resilience,community and recognition—bridging the gap between professional dedication and public appreciation.
