Todu and Paranjpe Secure Quarterfinal Berths at Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026
Panaji, January 2026 – Sonu Todu and Atharv Paranjpe advanced to the quarterfinals in the men’s doubles event of the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026, even as the courts at Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and Panjim Gymkhana hosted a slew of other matches in the tournament’s Open category.
In their Round-of-16 match, Sonu Todu and Atharv Paranjpe registered a 6–1 victory over the pair of Nishad Shevde and Siddarth Nunes. In the men’s singles Round-of-16, Ashwin Narsinghani edged past Vishwambhar 6–4, while Parth Deorukhakar defeated Sreyas Prasad 6–1. Nishad Shevde got the better of Arnav Harishankar 6–4. At the Gymkhana courts, Praneeth V beat Subhash Nayar 6–0 and Ryan Sodhi overcame Kshitij Gupta 6–3 to progress.
Several doubles ties were also settled across various rounds. Maaz Khan and Arnav Bansode beat Raviteja Damera/Ashwath Tiwari 6–2, while Ashwin Narsinghani and Prathmesh Patil defeated Dhruv Rao/Subham 6–3. Parth Deorukhakar and Arnav Bansode combined to beat Rehaan Diaz/Prajat Halankara 6–2 and later accounted for Eshaan Khadeer/Adam Basha 6–4. Avish Verma and Joshua Cardozo defeated Vidaal de Menezes/Sachin Vadaga 6–2, while Dhruv Rao and Subham beat Mohith Manoharan/Krishna Volvoikar 6–3. Maaz Khan and Arnav Harishankar later went on to defeat Debayan Das/Kshitij Gupta 6–1. Raviteja Damera and Ashwath Tiwari registered a 6–1 win over Kush Khaitan/Vivek Sahni. At Gymkhana, Omkar Islampure and Subhash Nayar beat Avish/Joshua 6–3; Paul Singh and Nilesh defeated Omkar Islampure/Avish 6–1 and later overcame Neale Fernandes/Dunstan Dias 6–2; while Ojus Rodrigues and Rohan Chhabra beat Vinod Chandra/Neenad Desai 6–3.
In other men’s singles matches, Parth Deorukhakar defeated Avish Verma 6–2, and Paul Singh blanked Ashwath D 6–0.
The ladies’ singles draw also saw multiple results, with Nidhi beating Simran 6–0 and later defeating Deeksha 6–4. Tomoyo Fujita beat Devyani 6–0, and Janavi blanked Archana 6–0 before later defeating Tomoyo 6–3. Patricia edged Natalia 7–5 before losing to Deeksha 6–1. Riya defeated Poojal 6–1, Trisha beat Abhisha 6–0, Unnathi defeated Nidhi 6–0, and Atika got past Ananya 6–4. Renee overcame Yuliia 6–4.
Jointly organised by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Gadre Group, in association with the Goa State Tennis Association (GSTA), the tournament has received a record 555 entries across the Masters and Open segments.
