VIVA CARNIVAL AT VASCO

The 4 day carnival festivities in the port town Vasco da Gama concluded with the performance by the band NEON and Goan Artist TSUMYOKI. This year carnival was celebrated with great spirit and culture of Goa.

Khell Tiartrs were presented in the Port Town of Vasco da Gama and surrounding areas. Like VADDEM LAKE, CHICALIM, MATVEM-DABOLIM, BUTEABHAT ,OLDCROSS, KARIWADDO , NEW VADDEM & NEAR BAINA CHURCH.

On 14^th February the Carnival Mobile Van with Live Band was flagged off by Mr Krishna Salkar along with the Chairman Mr Angelo Nunes and the Vasco Carnival Committee Members.

There were Fancy Dress and Dance Competition for School Children. FOLK DANCES BY CREATIONS. GOAN ARTIST DJ SKELETRON ALONG WITH DANCE GROUP – INFINIX. GRAND KONKANI MUSICAL SHOW by LAWRY TRAVASSO & ESTER NORONHA ALONG WITH TALENTED ARTISTES.

THE GRAND KING MOMO FLOAT PARADE comprising of 49 floats,including Clubs and institutions(16) Traditional(7) Clowns and Jokers(14) ,Fun & Junk(7)and Family(5) led by King MOMO Mr Cedric Da Costa and Vasco Carnival Queen Ms Eva Joshua saw hundreds of people lined up along the Swatantra Path .

The parade was flagged off by Panchayat Minister Mr. Mauvin Godinho, in the presence of Mr. Krishna Salkar, MLA Vasco Constituency, Vasco Carnival Committee Chairman Mr. Angelo Nunes and other dignitaries.

After the Floats the Great Performance by GOAN ARTISTE MAZEL FALEIRO (DJ CURLY M) which attracted the youth in large numbers.

The programme was well organised by the Vasco Carnival Committee under the Chairmanship of Mr. Angelo Nunes.

In the Primary Section of the Dance Competition the first place was won by DEEPVIHAR PRIMARY SCHOOL and 2^nd Place was won by MMC’s MANOHAR PARRIKAR PRIMARY SCHOOL.

In the Secondary Section of the Dance Competition the 1^st place was won by 1^st Place : MOUNT LITERA HIGH SCHOOL and 2^nd Place was won by MMC’s MANOHAR PARRIKAR PRIMARY SCHOOL .

In the Sub junior category of the Fancy Dress Competition,

1^st Place was won CALEB FERNANDES (CASHEW)

2^nd Place was won by VEDANSHI KADAM( SUNSET QUEEN)

3^rd Place was won by KAVISH SHIRODKAR (FARMER)

Special Prize was given to Sadanand Kutvalkar (Ashadeep Special School)

In the JUNIOR Category:

1^st Place was won by AVANI M. PUJARI (FARMER)

2^nd Place was won by TANISHQ KALDIMATI (CRICKTER)

3^rd Place was won by AFFAH SAUDAGAR
