The camp provided free, comprehensive primary healthcare to elderly women, pregnant and lactating mothers, and adolescent girls. These vital check-ups included medical consultations with specialists, diagnostic screenings, and educational sessions on women’s health and accessing government benefits.

National, March 20: P&G SEHAT, the healthcare-focused Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Procter & Gamble Health Limited (maker of brands like Neurobion, Livogen, Evion etc.), in partnership with NGO HelpAge India recently concluded its special ‘Women Care Week’ where it provided free, comprehensive primary healthcare to over 10,000 elderly women, pregnant and lactating mothers, and adolescent girls in 10 underserved communities. These included cities such as Palghar, Goa, Chennai, Puri, Guwahati, Patna, Fatehpur, Mathura, Rudraprayag, and Jaipur.

During the camps, beneficiaries received free-of-cost on-site consultations with gynecologists, pediatricians, nutritionists, and physicians, as well as antenatal care (ANC) support. Further, free health diagnostic screenings were conducted to assess hemoglobin (Hb) levels for anemia detection, blood pressure and blood sugar. Beneficiaries were also provided with free medicines where required and guided for further medical care through referrals, ensuring continuity of care beyond the camp. A strong focus was also placed on nutrition awareness, highlighting the importance of balanced diets and supplementary nutrition for women and adolescents. Additionally, to support access to healthcare services, the camps also included on-site facilitation and awareness around the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), helping the beneficiaries understand the process of registering and accessing government healthcare benefits.

Milind Thatte, Managing Director, P&G Health India, said “For many underserved communities across the country, access to timely primary healthcare continues to be a challenge owing to several factors – specially for elderly women, pregnant mothers, and adolescent girls. P&G SEHAT’s Women Care Week aimed to bridge this gap by bringing dedicated health camps to the doorsteps of these communities, and by driving awareness on nutrition, and government health services like ABHA for ensuring long-term wellbeing. This special week was a synchronised and coordinated extension of the healthcare access support we continue to provide via our dedicated Mobile Healthcare Units (MHUs) as part of our commitment to improving community health outcomes.”

These specialized camps are part of P&G SEHAT’s long-standing initiative of providing healthcare access to underserved communities across the country via dedicated Mobile Healthcare Units (MHU). As part of this, similar initiatives have helped improve screening for conditions such as anemia, hypertension, and diabetes while driving awareness about maternal and child health. Through this initiative, P&G SEHAT aims to strengthen preventive healthcare, promote early diagnosis and empower women with the knowledge and resources needed to take charge of their health.
