Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrão, the Archbishop of Goa and Daman, warmly extended Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to the Muslim community, calling for increased friendship, respect, and unity among all people. Representing the Catholic community of Goa and Daman, and alongside Auxiliary Bishop Simião Fernandes, he offered his best wishes to Muslims celebrating the festival. He acknowledged their prayers during this sacred period, especially seeking God’s forgiveness, mercy, peace, and blessings for everyone, including the nation.

Emphasizing shared human and spiritual values, he highlighted the importance of compassion, generosity, and unity. He urged individuals of all faiths to continue fostering friendship and mutual respect, promoting understanding for the common good.

Additionally, he assured prayers for peace beyond national borders, especially in regions experiencing unrest. He expressed hope for enduring peace and stability in the Gulf countries, suggesting that the spirit of Eid could guide harmony among all peoples.

He concluded his message with “Eid Mubarak,” expressing solidarity and goodwill with the Muslim community.
