Global Business Meet in Goa Unlocks New Investment Opportunities in Phuket for Goan Entrepreneurs
Joint initiative by Dr. Sunil V. Manjrekar and Ms. Papachsorn Meepa (Kae) creates a global platform for Konkani business expansion.
Varca Beach, (Goa) : In a significant step toward fostering international business linkages, a high-level business conference was recently held at The Zuri White Sands, Goa Resort & Casino, spotlighting lucrative investment opportunities in Phuket, Thailand for Goan and Konkani entrepreneurs.
The initiative was led by Dr. Sunil Vinayak Manjrekar, Global President of Gulf Maharashtra Business Forum, who has been actively driving Maharashtra–Goa industrial growth for over three decades. In collaboration with SQCC Properties LLC and Thailand’s renowned Phuket 9, the conference introduced a strategic gateway for Indian investors to explore premium real estate ventures in Phuket.
The event witnessed participation from over 50 prominent and emerging entrepreneurs, including noted builder and philanthropist Ashutosh Khandekar. Attendees were presented with comprehensive insights into high-yield international property investments, networking opportunities with global investors, and avenues for sustainable business expansion.
Phuket, one of Thailand’s most sought-after destinations, is increasingly emerging as a global investment hub. Known for its scenic coastline along the Andaman Sea, vibrant cultural landscape, and strong tourism-driven economy, the city offers immense potential for real estate growth. Adding a unique cultural dimension, Phuket 9 has developed a replica of the iconic Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple, promoting Marathi–Konkani heritage on a global stage. The project has also received valuable support in Goa from Ashutosh Khandekar.
The Phuket developments include a diverse portfolio of beachfront hotels, condominiums, and luxury villas designed to meet international standards. These projects offer modern amenities, robust security, and end-to-end property management services, making them an attractive proposition for Indian investors—particularly from the Marathi and Konkani communities.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sunil Manjrekar said, “When Goa’s entrepreneurial spirit meets a global outlook, it creates powerful opportunities. Phuket is not just a tourism hotspot but a rapidly growing investment destination. We are confident that Konkani entrepreneurs will leverage this platform to strengthen their global presence.”
Ms. Papachsorn Meepa (Kae) highlighted the cultural synergy between Goa and Phuket, stating, “I have always admired India’s rich traditions, especially the warmth and hospitality of the Konkani community. Goa and Phuket share many similarities—from natural beauty to cultural vibrancy. We hope this initiative will further strengthen ties and encourage Goan entrepreneurs to explore global opportunities.”
Dr. Manjrekar further noted that the Phuket projects are expected to generate returns of up to 10%, with an estimated 70% annual occupancy ensuring steady income for investors. Additionally, complete property management will be handled by Phuket 9, offering a seamless and hassle-free experience.
Prior to the conference, Dr. Sunil Manjrekar and Ms. Papachsorn Meepa (Kae) met Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to brief him about the initiative. The Hon’ble Chief Minister extended his best wishes for the project. The delegation also invited him to visit the Ganpati temple in Phuket.
