Goa Welcomes First Charter Flights from Russia at Manohar International Airport (Mopa)

Mopa, 2nd October, 2024 – Goa celebrated a significant milestone in international tourism today with the arrival of the first two charter flights operated by Aeroflot, from Moscow and Ekaterinburg, Russia, at the Manohar International Airport (Mopa).

The Department of Tourism organized a grand welcoming ceremony with a vibrant Goan brass band, garlands, and flowers, to commemorate the arrival of the flights, as part of their continued efforts to attract and accommodate international travelers. This symbolizes the warm hospitality and rich cultural heritage of the state, setting the tone for the promising season ahead, further strengthening Goa’s position as a preferred international travel destination.

This development highlights the growing demand for direct connectivity between Goa and key international markets like Russia. Commenting on the occasion, the Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Shri Rohan A. Khaunte said, “We are excited to welcome the first charter flights of the season from Russia. The connection between Moscow, Ekaterinburg, and Goa reflects our efforts to expand international connectivity, opening more avenues for tourism growth. Goa is prepared to offer an unparalleled experience to visitors this season, with a focus on hospitality and cultural exchange.”
