
Goa’s Dynamic Support System for Startups Spotlighted at Startup Ranking 5.0 Knowledge Exchange Workshop
The Department of IT, Electronics & Communications, Government of Goa recently participated in the Startup Ranking 5.0 Knowledge Exchange Workshop, a 2-day event held in Kohima, Nagaland. The event was organized by the Department of Industry and Commerce, Kohima, in collaboration with DPIIT, Govt. of India.
Smt. Priyatama Patil, Assistant Director, Department of IT, Electronics & Communications, Government of Goa, joined a panel discussion on ‘Stakeholders’ Support for Startups’ with Smt. Laemjungla Jamir (Chairwoman, WENN), Dr. Gopal Chetri (Principal, Sazolie College), Smt. Gurpreet Kaur (Startup Coordinator, Punjab) and moderated by Smt. Nuneseno Chase (Director, YouthNet). they shared insights on the role of government, banks, educational institutions, CSOs, and NGOs in building a strong startup ecosystem.
Speaking about Goa’s startup framework, Smt. Priatama Patil emphasized Goa’s strong support system for startups through various schemes under the Goa Startup Policy 2021, working closely with incubators and leveraging national schemes like Credit Guarantee Scheme, Genesis, and NIDHI Prayas to foster innovation and entrepreneurship.
