Panaji: MLA of opposition members of the Goa legislative assembly were suspended for 24 Hours on Monday after they protested and created a ruckus on the floor of the House over Manipur violence.
Earlier in morning half of the session the speaker had suspended MLAs from the house for two days
Talking to reporters, Tawadkar said the opposition members disturbed the ruling MLA Jit Arolkar when he was speaking on the floor of the House. Members even went to the bench of chief minister Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane.
Speaker said that the opposition members along with some senior members from the ruling had approached him with a request to curtain the suspension.
The suspended members are Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, Congress MLAs Altone D’Costa and Carlos Ferreira, AAP’s Venzy Viegas and Cruz Silva, Goa Forward Party’s Vijai Sardesai, and Viresh Borkar of Revolutionary Goans Party. The members can join the house on Tuesday at 12.30 noon
