Stepping into Health: Dance Proves a Boon for Senior Citizens
Encore Academy of Performing Arts (EAPA) recently conducted a free dance workshop for senior citizens, in association with YMCA Senior Citizens Group. The event saw an enthusiastic participation of 60 members, who enjoyed a fun-filled session with Cecille Rodrigues, Co-Founder of EAPA and her Team ( Aditya & Astrid )
“The energy in the class was amazing! They sang along and moved to the beats from start to finish,” exclaimed Cecille Rodrigues.
“As our population ages, staying active and healthy becomes crucial. Dance is emerging as a fun and effective way to maintain physical and mental well-being,” exclaimed Errol Pires ( Incharge of YMCA Senior Citizens )

• Improves flexibility, balance, and strength, reducing fall risk
• Enhances cardiovascular health and cognitive function
• Boosts mood, self-esteem, and overall mental well-being

A 75-year-old participant shared, “Initially hesitant, I joined in and felt lighter on my feet. My shoulders and hips are now more flexible. I look forward to Cecille’s weekly dance classes.”
