Town Square Project Likely to be Completed and Opened to the Public by August: Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte
Porvorim | June 17, 2026: The centrally funded Town Square Project in Porvorim is on track for completion and is expected to open to the public by August 15, announced Tourism Minister Shri Rohan A. Khaunte today after a high-level review meeting.
Key Highlights:
1. Beautification & Redevelopment: The project includes the transformation of adjoining service roads and parallel stretches.
2. Traffic & Highway Management: Crucial works on drainage, culverts, and national highway stretches are being expedited. Alternate routes, including the road towards Mapusa, are being opened to ease congestion.
3. Inter-Departmental Coordination: Officials from Tourism, PWD, Electricity, NH, Sewerage, and Water Supply are working in tandem to beat monsoon challenges and ensure timely execution.
