Vedanta Iron Ore Goa Organises Multi-Specialty Health Camp at Lamgao

07th May 2026 – Vedanta – Iron Ore Goa (IOG) organised a multi-specialty health camp at for Lamgao community. The initiative was undertaken as part of the Company’s Project ‘Aarogya’ which aims to support communities through basic affordable healthcare.
The multi-specialty health camp brought together a panel of qualified medical specialists, including consultants in orthopaedics, pulmonology, dermatology, and general surgery, who provided medical consultations and guidance. The health camp provided the community members an opportunity to avail of timely & specialised medical advice, further aiding early diagnosis where needed.
Around 100 community members from Lamgao benefitted through the initiative. Overall the multi-specialty health camp received a positive response, which witnessed a considerable surge in participation during the latter half of the day, as positive word of mouth within the community, encouraged greater attendance.
Mrs. Chaya Prabhu Gaonkar, 71 said “I am truly grateful to Vedanta IOG for organizing this health camp in Lamgao. Access to specialists right here in our village has made a big difference, especially for elders like me. Their efforts show genuine care for our community’s wellbeing, and we deeply appreciate this support.”

Healthcare is an important medium to support the community & Project ‘Aarogya’ has been instrumental in bringing health care benefits to the doorstep of the communities we operate in. Our Mobile Health Unit & collaboration with the Community Medical Centres has further helped augment basic affordable healthcare for community members. We reaffirm our commitment to ‘give back’ meaningfully for the overall progress & wellbeing of the communities.”
Notably, this was the third such health camp organised by the company in recent months, following two similar initiatives at Piligao. Under Project ‘Aarogya’, Vedanta IOG also operates a Mobile Health Unit (MHU), helping expand the community touchpoints in villages including Maem, Lamgao, Sarmanas, and Shirigao.
The company continues to implement a wide spectrum of community-focused initiatives anchored in a structured and participatory approach. Its flagship CSR initiatives Sesa Football Academy & Sesa Technical School have nurtured the dreams and aspirations of the youth of Goa, providing them with pathways to a brighter future.
