Loutulim’s ‘Lottlim Goenche Konkani Mogi’ to Participate in Guinness World Record Attempt in Mangaluru

Lottlim Goenche Konkani Mogi, a vibrant group of 30 young singers and musicians from Loutulim, will participate in a Guinness World Record attempt at the First World Konkani Music Mega Convention in Mangaluru, Karnataka. The group is scheduled to perform on November 8, 2026, from 4 pm to 5 pm.

The convention, being held from November 3 to 15, 2026, will feature a non-stop Konkani singing marathon lasting 12 days, 12 hours and 12 minutes. It will bring together 300 groups from across the world, performing nearly 5,400 Konkani songs in a celebration of the language and its rich musical traditions.

The group comprises primarily members of Youth Saviourites, Loutulim, the regular parish youth choir of the Saviour of the World Church, Loutulim. They are joined by young singers and musicians from neighbouring villages, including Camorlim, Arlem and Cortalim.

Founded in September 2022 by Mr. Ronnie Fernandes, Youth Saviourites has steadily established its presence through performances at religious celebrations, choral events and competitions across Goa, earning appreciation and recognition along the way. Known for its powerful four-part harmonies, the choir reflects the dedication, enthusiasm and willingness of its members to continually learn and improve.

The idea of participating in this mega convention originated at the request of the late Fr. Dr. Bolmax Pereira. The group’s primary objective in taking part in this historic event is to celebrate, preserve and promote the Konkani language, ensuring that it remains alive and thriving among younger generations.

“These young people have put their heart and soul into every rehearsal. Singing in Konkani on a stage like this is not just a performance; it is a way of keeping our language alive and thriving. I am proud of each one of them,” said Mr. Ronnie Fernandes, founder and mentor of the choir.

The members are excited and honoured to be part of this historic occasion. They consider the opportunity to participate in a Guinness World Record attempt a significant milestone for the group and a proud moment for Goa. To ensure a disciplined and well-coordinated performance, the singers and instrumentalists have been rehearsing regularly, with their enthusiasm growing as the event draws closer.

The group expresses its heartfelt gratitude to its mentor, Mr. Ronnie Fernandes, for his tireless guidance, encouragement and commitment. It also extends its best wishes to all participating groups and hopes that the marathon will showcase the rich diversity of Konkani musical traditions from across the world.

Their message to the youth of Goa is simple yet meaningful: Speak Konkani, sing Konkani and carry the language forward with pride. As the final notes of their performance resonate in Mangaluru, the group hopes that the music will continue to echo in young hearts long after the stage lights have gone down.
