
Goa Tourism showcases the Charm of Goa as part of World Tourism Day Celebrations
Panaji, 26th September 2025 – As part of the ongoing World Tourism Day 2025 celebrations, the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, in collaboration with the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) and SKAL International Goa, organised an immersive rural experience at Mulgao Village and with the the Hop On and Hop Off Bus Tour around North Goa.
Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Shri Rohan A. Khaunte said, “Through such rural experiences, we are showcasing Goa’s authentic culture and supporting local communities. Mulgao exemplifies how heritage and livelihood can go hand in hand when tourism is designed responsibly.”
Director of Tourism, Shri Kedar Naik added, “The enthusiastic participation in the Mulgao Village Experience demonstrates the growing appeal of community-based tourism. We will continue to curate such experiences across Goa to highlight our state’s diversity and sustainability practices.”
Visitors were taken on a curated journey through a coconut farm where they witnessed Virgin Coconut Oil making, learnt about the local deities and folk stories, and experienced the serene natural beauty of the village. The activity offered participants a first-hand insight into Goa’s rich agrarian traditions and its living heritage, aligning with the state’s focus on ‘Goa Beyond Beaches’ and Regenerative Tourism.
Additionally, Goa Tourism organised a special Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour for children from Bal Bhavan.
The Minister also interacted with the students of Bal Bhavan, handing out Goa Tourism Caps to each student. The initiative gave young participants a lively and educational journey through Goa’s tourist attractions, allowing them to experience the State’s culture and history first-hand in a safe, engaging and accessible manner. The Department of Tourism will continue its series of activities under the World Tourism Day 2025 celebrations, with upcoming programmes including boat cruises, a major Tourism Stakeholders’ Meet at Grand Hyatt Goa, and a film festival at ESG showcasing Goa’s heritage and conservation stories.
