Panaji: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly criticized Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant for his statement that 20% of Goan youth are unwilling to work. The party expressed outrage, saying such statements are misleading the public.

AAP Youth Wing President Rohan Naik demanded that the Chief Minister clarify the basis of this statement. He further added “government to specify what kind of jobs and employment opportunities are being offered to qualified youth. Additionally, they called for the publication of a list of youths who allegedly do not want to work”

Rohan Naik criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party’s youth wing, saying, “Instead of issuing threats, they should focus on the problems of unemployed youth. Young people in the state are under stress, and proper policies are needed.”

“If CM says youth are not looking for job how come there was huge rush at DHS Nurse recuirtment” – youth wing leaders Neash Steve Coutinho.

“A youth who has done engineering or taken proper education why will the youth accept small jobs? MOPA airport was built saying locals will get jobs but reality is goans are not getting proper jobs there. While highlighting the governments lack of seriousness in employment creation AAP Youth Vice President Salman Khan pointed “government has neither given jobs nor promoted entreprenurship among the goan youth”

The party also urged the government to clarify how many jobs were actually provided through employment fairs.

The party emphasized that unemployment is rising in the state and called on the government to take immediate steps to ensure local youth have access to meaningful employment opportunities.
