Urvi Leads Strong U-12 Showing at Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026

Panaji, January 2026 – Urvi emerged as one of the standout performers in the Girls Under-12 category at the ongoing Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026, securing her place in the semifinals with a straight-sets victory over Anindita. Urvi closed out the contest 4-3(3; 4-0 underlining her growing dominance in the age group.

The tournament’s higher rounds across categories saw several decisive results at the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias courts. In the other Girls Under-12 semifinals, Gargi produced a commanding performance against Maahi.

In the Girls Under-16 segment, Gargi continued her impressive run, defeating Bhavya 4-1, 4-0 in the semifinals to book her spot in the final.

The Boys Under-12 category witnessed competitive quarterfinal and semifinal action. Kriyansh edged past Arsh 6-2 before going on to defeat Kiran 6-3 in the semifinals. Ethan also impressed, recording victories over Seth (6-0) and Ivan (6-3), while Divyaraj overcame Devaansh 6-3 after earlier wins in the quarterfinals.

In the Boys Under-16 draw, Shaurya remained consistent, registering identical 6-2 wins over Vidaal in fixtures that were played at the iconic Miramar club’s court and the Panjim Gymkhana.

The doubles events saw several one-sided results in the later rounds. In the Ladies Doubles quarterfinals, Trisha and Anupama dominated Anita and Natalia 6-0, while Riya and Unnathi blanked Tomoyo and Aastha 6-0. Tvisha and Bhavya also progressed with a 6-2 win over Nishi and Nidhi. In the Men’s Doubles quarterfinals, Parth and Arnav secured a comfortable 6-1 win over Rushil and Shaurya.

Mixed Doubles action saw Trisha and Maaz edge Sonicka and Vishwambar 6-4, while Riya and Fatha claimed a 6-3 win over Tomoyo and Arnav. Eshaan and Anupama advanced with a 6-1 victory over Poojal and Pankaj, and Paul and his partner Deeksha accounted for Tvisha and Bhavya 6-4 in another quarterfinal.

Earlier-round matches across age groups and venues continued to deliver competitive tennis, with players across categories pushing through tight schedules as the tournament moves into its decisive stages.

Jointly organised by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Gadre Group, in association with the Goa State Tennis Association (GSTA), the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026 has received a record 555 entries across the Masters and Open segments.
