Another Feather in Goa Judiciary’s Cap; Dr. Shabnam Shaikh Earns Ph.D. Degree
Margao: Dr. Shabnam Shaikh, who is posted as District and Sessions Judge-III and Additional Sessions Judge in South Goa and who is currently working as an Officer-on-Special Duty, High Court of Judicature at Bombay, Circuit Bench at Kolhapur, has successfully completed her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Law. She has completed Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Law on May 2, 2026, for her research titled “A Critical Study of Social Legal Aspects of Matrimonial Dispute in the state of Goa”
For this research work, Dr. Shabnam Shaikh received guidence from Dr. Prof. Shabbir Ali, Principal of V.M. Salgaocar College of Law, Goa; Prof. Vishwanath M., Dean of the Faculty of Law at Karnataka University, Dharwad; and Prof. Kim Rocha of V.M. Salgaocar College of Law, Goa. Her family also played a significant role in supporting her throughout her academic journey. Dr. N. Kolwalkar served as her internal guide.
