Anup Jalota Scripts a New Chapter in Devotional Music with ‘Mission 500’
Mumbai (Anil Bedag): A soulful evening in Mumbai turned memorable as legendary bhajan singer Anup Jalota unveiled the devotional track “Bolo Ram Bolo Shyam,” sung by young artist Karishma Bachav, under his ambitious ‘Mission 500’ initiative. The launch marked not just a musical release, but a beautiful confluence of tradition and emerging talent, breathing new life into India’s rich devotional heritage.
Reflecting on his five-decade-long musical journey, Jalota said, “This bhajan has come out beautifully. It was a joy to render it. Through Mission 500, we aim to take devotional music to the global stage.” The initiative seeks to discover 500 talented bhajan singers from across the world, with 100 already selected and many more yet to be found.
An emotional Karishma Bachav shared, “Singing with Anup ji feels like a dream come true. I still can’t believe my bhajan has been launched.” Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also appreciated this noble initiative. ‘Mission 500’ promises not only to nurture fresh talent but also to strengthen and globalize India’s timeless devotional music tradition.
