Celebration of Narli Poornima and launching of Matsya Vaahini
Hon’ble Chief Minister attended the Narali Pournima Celebrations and launched the Matsya Vahini Matsya Ahar Fish Kiosks under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana organized by Department of Fisheries in the presence of Fisheries Minister Shri Nilkanth Halarnkar, Fisheries Secretary Shri E Vallavan and others.
HCM said that 10 ‘Matsya Vahini’ environment friendly e autorikshaws have been distributed to enhance transportation of fish from landing site to markets and 25 ‘Matsya Ahar’ a unique retail fish outlet have been sanctioned for Goa. He additionally said that these initiatives shall create employment opportunities for Goan youth.
HCM reiterated that the Govt of Goa is working on establishing a Fisheries College for Goan youth and expressed certainty that these initiatives under Fisheries department shall benefit Goans with employment & economic opportunities to build a bright future.
