GBSHSE Reports 85% Students have Passed successfully passed the examination. The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education released the results of the Higher Secondary School Certificate examination for the 12th standard on Sunday.
The Chairman of the Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary, Mr. Bhagirath Shetye, held a press briefing in Porvorim to discuss the results of the HSSC Public Examinations. In attendance were the Deputy Secretary (IT), Mr. Bharat Chopade, and other board officials.
In a statement to the press, Board Chairman Bhagirath Shetye announced that out of 17511 students who sat for the examination, 14884 successfully passed, resulting in an overall passing rate of 85 percent.
Shetye noted a decrease in the passing rate compared to the previous year, with only 85.46 percent of students passing the 2023 HSSC examination. Furthermore, he highlighted that 81.59 percent of boys and 88.06 percent of girls successfully passed the exam.
Breaking down the passing percentages by stream, Shetye revealed that 86.33 percent of students in the Arts stream, 90.78 percent in Commerce, 82.41 percent in Science, and 76.45 percent in Vocational successfully passed their exams.
Additionally, Shetye mentioned that 2980 students received benefits under the sports merit marks system, with 180 students passing the exam due to these merit marks.
The examination, which took place between February 28, 2024 and March 18, 2024, was conducted by the Goa Board at 20 different examination centers.
