GOA LABOUR WELFARE BOARD MEETING HELD
Minister for Labour and Employment, Shri Atanasio Monserrate chaired the 47thmeeting of the Goa Labour Welfare Board, at the Ministerial Block, Porvorim. Commissioner for Labour and Employment and Secretary, Goa Labour Welfare Board, Dr Levinson Martins was present on the occasion.
At the meeting, several welfare schemes like first aid training, skill development etc were discussed for their formulation. It was decided to refer them to the Board’s Sub-Committee, for deliberations.
The members discussed the Retrenched Workers Assistance Scheme and sought to bring additional changes to it for the benefit of workers.
Among other things, it was also decided to ensure that the Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1986 is adhered to strictly.
