Meeting held on land acquisition for approach road to EMC, Tuem
Pernem, May 2026: A review meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Shri. Ankit Yadav, IAS, Collector, North Goa, to deliberate on the land acquisition for the proposed approach road to the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) at Tuem, Pernem.
The meeting was held in the presence of Shri. Kabir Shirgaonkar, Director, Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C), Shri. Shivprasad Naik, Deputy Collector, Pernem & Land Acquisition Officer, along with officials from the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications.
The meeting focused on strengthening inter-departmental coordination to expedite land acquisition, streamline planning processes and ensure the timely execution of this critical infrastructure project. The importance of the approach road as a key connectivity link for the cluster was also highlighted.
The Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Tuem, spread over approx. 6 lakh square metres, aims to build a globally competitive IT and electronics ecosystem in the state. Attracting investments in emerging sectors like semiconductors, drones, cleantech and EV components, the cluster is also set to create high-value job opportunities for local youth.
With its continued commitment, the Department of ITE&C is working to ensure steady progress. Officials reaffirmed their dedication to speeding up the process while meeting all regulatory requirements. The meeting ended with a clear roadmap for the next steps, highlighting the proactive approach to infrastructure development in the state.
